Jake is an introverted and gentle 13-year-old, at the end of his primary education, dreaming of becoming a painter. After his grandfather’s death, he moves with his parents in the old house in Brooklyn, where his father grew up and where he meets a lively and easy-going boy named Tony, who wants to become an actor. The two boys become friends, but when Jake’s father decides to raise the price of rent for Tony’s mother office, their friendship is at stake. Summer in Brooklyn is a simple but intelligent film, unveiling many truths about modern-day life in New York City, a film with a humane attitude and understanding towards its characters.
